As beautiful as this piece is, I don’t want people to forget that this artist threw a temper tantrum after a Black girl pointed out that she never drew POC. I’m not saying to “cancel” this artist. I want people to be aware of the many situations in which Black women are continuously punished for speaking up AND THEN get our ideas stolen without credit anyway.

The performative ally-act is such a slap in the face as well. To draw a fictional Black girl but not listen to, or care about, a real one. I need people in this community to start caring about off-page diversity as much as y’all care about the fictional variety.
