The mayor said on live TV ( @InsideCityHall w/ @errollouis) Monday night - a full 24 hours before the City Council voted - that this transition would be multi-year
Additionally, this document (and countless conversations) provided to the Council says it in black and white:
School starts in 2mos. We need to train & transfer all School Safety Agents. That takes time, but there is a commitment to do it. We will get it done on the timeline we committed to - publicly & privately. Our students & schools will be better off - but only if it is done right.
