and the reality is that most (95%) of us are sexually abused by our own family members and family networks, and if (big if) or when we disclose, many of us are not believed and the abuse is minimized. I want us to take trafficking and abuse seriously while +

grappling with the abuse that happens within our own communities. the majority of gendered violence is not some far off “celebrity sexual exploitation ring”, it’s the sexual and intimate partner violence happening right in our own communities. right under our nose.

I just want y’all to keep this same nancy drew energy for naming the abusers in our own families.
