When Democrats take the majority in the North Carolina legislature we will immediately vote to expand Medicaid.

After it's done - providing health insurance to 500,000 of our citizens for a cost of roughly $0 to state taxpayers - everyone will wonder what took so darn long.
We essentially subsidize all the other states that are doing this, without getting any of the benefit.

At this point, Republicans in the state legislature have just made us suckers.
The ***only*** reason this hasn't happened is because Republicans are worried about mail that would run against them in their primaries that puts their face next to Obama's. That's it. That's why 500,000 people don't have health insurance.
Every once in a while it just flashes in my brain that we still haven't expanded Medicaid and I have a lot of constituents who are suffering for no good reason and literally the only way to help is to flip seats because these guys aren't gonna budge so they have to go.
I guess it's a boring news story to say, "And today, Republicans continued their years-long blockade of giving health insurance to hundreds of thousands of the working poor in our state, and did so for no discernible reason."

And yet, it should be news. It's astounding apathy.
