Just talked to one of my old docs who asked me about guns 3 years ago. He’s never fired one and wanted a first. Said he wanted a .500 Magnum. After dissuading him from that choice I sent him to a rental range.
He came back later saying that he’d changed his mind on the .500 Magnum after shooting it and was more thinking 9mm. He asked my advice and I said Glock for a first purchase. Preferably a 19.
So after some range time he went with the Glock 19. I would have taken him but ironically the gun I recommend for a first buy isn’t one I own.
He was going to the range pretty regular and then my spine broke and hadn’t seen to talked to him in a few years. Still had his number. We never erase their numbers.
Well my industry is kinda tight. We all know each other. We’ve all worked with each other and a co-worked was talking about how he was carrying now and I beamed with pride.
So I decided to call and check up on how he was doing. He said he’d bought quite a few more since then but wanted an AR15 pistol. And I swear to John Browning I wept.
Told him some of the basics of the laws around AR pistols and said I’d give him a class on building one at my house anytime.

My congregation grows....
