Stop shaming parents for not being productive in the traditional capitalist work sense, stop shaming non parents who haven’t been dealing with kids, stop shaming people who’ve tried to forge forward because we are in crisis, stop shaming people who’ve been working fast + hard ...
... stop shaming people who’ve had to centre other work like care, stop shaming people who are ill, stop shaming people who’ve had to stop totally, stop shaming people for doing treble the work because we have to hold on + fight for the future.
STOP FUCKING SHAMING EACH OTHER.
Stop being so damn gross, binary, angry, and find your humanity. Be honest with yourself, each other about what you can do, can’t do, focus on what is important, do the best you can in whatever circumstance to look after whatever you can, to whenever you show up for whatever ..
... you have to, in whatever you can bring some care, or energy, or effort, or love, or silence, or survival, or leadership or whatever is needed. Stop being so damn binary about this shit, it’s killing us all, it’s shit for most people, it’s a pandemic, yes it’s more shit for ..
... some, way more shit, but if everyday is angry and just trying to show your co workers and colleagues and family and community it’s more shit for you so you get to be even more shit to each other that is zero sum. It’s hard, exhausting, tiring but this is kind of ...
... what life is going to be like for a long time, so try check yourself about whether your angry, misery, fight is about this current situation or whether this is going to be who you are as we go into this long long long emergency. We only have each other in the end.
Also, there is lots of be grateful for, don’t let this narrative consume you, a daily gratitude mediation will help rewire the brain away from all the anger, aggression, misery, depression that everything around us encouraging, that’s a radical act in itself.
