15 govt VRD labs and 4 pvt labs are testing #COVID19 samples in the state. The govt labs have 47 RT-PCT machines. We have done 9.71 lakh tests (18,200 samples per million population) so far: Spl Chief Secy (health) KS Jawahar Reddy

As cases will shoot up with economic activity resuming, we are testing for surveillance. The focus of testing is on those coming from other states/countries to AP, construction and agri workers, vegetable/fruit vendors, frontline workers etc: Spl CS (health) KS Jawahar Reddy
We have so far tested samples of 8400 agri workers, of which 115 emerged +ve. State avg in this category is 1.37%, but Guntur and Srikakulam districts have 5.5% and 2.3% positivity rate: Spl Chief Secy (health) KS Jawahar Reddy
1,250 construction workers were tested so far. While state avg is 1.84% in this category, EG district has a positivity rate of 5.2%: Spl Chief Secy (health) KS Jawahar Reddy

Temples- state avg positivity rate of 1.46%. Visakhapatnam has 2.26%

Vegetable vendors- 1460 samples tested. Higher in EG and Kadapa: Spl CS(health) KS Jawahar Reddy
All above categories pose a higher risk of transmission. So, we are doing targeted testing to assess the rate of transmission and contain it: Spl Chief Secy (health) KS Jawahar Reddy

#AndhraPradesh
We are also taking up targeted testing to reduce the mortality rate. In our experience so far, those over 60 yrs, and those above 40 with comorbidities are at higher risk. So, we are screening those in containment zones n outside as well: Spl Chief Secy (health) KS Jawahar Reddy
We are using pulse oximeters to screen those at higher risk. We will normally test first. Then, we are asking them to walk 100 steps and recheck. If the oxygen saturation level is less than 94%, then they are considered high risk. They will be tested for #COVID19: Spl CS (health)
Those with symptoms will anyway be tested. If we offer medical attention early and treat them in the hospital for 5-6 days, we can bring down mortality: Spl Chief Secy (health) KS Jawahar Reddy
Of the 9096 active cases in the state, 500-600 are in home isolation.

About 2000 are in #COVID19 care centres.

The remaining are in hospitals: Spl Chief Secy (health) KS Jawahar Reddy
We are recommending home isolation in mild and asymptomatic cases to reduce the burden on hospitals as we are not sure if the peak has already come or it is yet to come: Spl Chief Secy (health) KS Jawahar Reddy
