HOW TO CATCH THE GIGAS GIANT CLAM: A Threas (based on my experience)

First things first, brace yourself. This thing is huge and fast. If you approach it like any other diving creature, it will swim away and you will be unable to catch it. It took me 15 minutes the first time I got it but I quickly learned my first method was dumb.

Dive down to see what the shadow is. If it’s big and moving quickly, it might be this. Keep in mind, according to my research it seems that it’s very rare. Patience is key with the beast.

Once you think you have the shadow, chase it into the middle of the ocean. Don’t get too close to the net or the shore. You will need a decent amount of space. You can keep track of it easily because sand will float to the water in a trail following the clam.

After you get it in a good position, do not swim with the A button. Instead, use your control stick to gently swim above the bubbles/shadow. If you press A it will swim away. Once you are aligned with it, dive directly down.

Pay close attention! When you dive it will begin to move. Find the direction it’s swimming and spam A! Since you started so close to it, the clam won’t be able to escape as easily. You should be able to get it from there.

It takes time to get so please don’t get discouraged! Side note, it sells for 15,000 bells too. Worth it!
