I& #39;m uncomfortable with how much our economy seems to be based on encouraging endless consumption. I don& #39;t like the idea of people being in jobs for jobs& #39; sake. It& #39;s all well and good to say "protect jobs", but so many jobs are bullshit jobs, as the book says.
Jobs aren& #39;t good in and of themselves, their benefit is what they provide. If a job doesn& #39;t provide benefits, it& #39;s not a thing to be valued.

I just want more discussion about the quality of jobs and not the quantity. And about how to maintain living standards when there aren& #39;t enough quality jobs to go around.
