Starting a kindle trading book thread to share any nuggets of info/lessons. First read smashed out is the story of Nav by @liamvaughanBBG. I highly recommend. Will make a good movie!
The sheer risk tolerance of this guy is epic. Being able to smash out some football manager w/out a care in the world whilst balls deep in a trade
This is my favourite example and paragraph of this book. Go out for a couple milkshakes and come back with $15Mill! What a beast
Next up is @markminervini 's think and trade like a champ. A must read for position traders. With lots of strategies/setups and process orientated descriptions
Mark details his VCP setup which i use alot. Plenty of examples of charts to demonstrate
Pivots are just so important as inflection points in a stock.
On measuring the effectiveness of a VCP. Its always good to measure the strength of volume on a breakout over consecutive days
Naturally a breakout should then come back and retest our breakout level. This is our first pullback and in theory. If being accumulated it should be well supported. Always important to watch
Mark on management of a trend is pure gold.
There is a number of signs a trend may potentially break down. I use a few of these myseld and there are plenty examples in the book to demonstrate.
My favourite is just the straight flat reversal.
When in doubt of trying to pick the end of a trend. Sell half and take a gain. Its a win/win
Once you have a system and sound principles. Its important to understand what 'should be happening' otherwise price misbehavior in itself can be an exit sign
And lastly. Beleive that you can! Because you can.
My notes are just the key bits I took from it. But i highly recommend putting in the time and effort to understand ane read this one. Heaps of charts and good examples in there that make it very easy for a novice to understand
