Psalm 23 is so anti-modern Christianity that prides itself in works as a manifestation of faith.
The Shepherd literally does EVERYTHING for the sheep, even the act of rest is orchestrated by him, not to talk of righteous living. This is basic Christianity.

I do not need to know where the green pastures or the still waters are, I do not need to know where the paths of righteousness are, all I need to know is The Shepherd.

The Shepherd leads, guides, makes me lie down, restores, prepares a table, all I need to do is be present.
For you to experience true relationship with God, you have to be like the sheep that does not know anything and is waiting to led by God.
