👋👋Hi Twitter Camera Folk!🎥🎥
This is a thread...

I want to talk about the MENTAL HEALTH of camera crew in the Film and TV industry.

I know it's not cool or funny and sorry: there won't be any cool shots of people holding cameras, but please give me 2 minutes...
...I want to hit you with a fact:

87% of people working in our industry have experienced a mental health problem. That's HUGE...

(Source: Film & TV Charity Looking Glass Survey 2020)
...Furthermore:

76% of respondents to a recent @GTC_TV survey specifically concerning the mental health of CAMERA CREW have sought some kind of help for a mental health issue.
...The fact is, it's highly likely that a member of your team, or another friend/colleague in the industry may be suffering in silence and do not know where to turn.

We need to look out for each other more and the wonderful people at @GTC_TV have started the ball rolling...
...They have spent a huge amount of time focusing on what can be done and have assembled two special supplements with the aim to help, you can read them here:

https://www.gtc.org.uk/about-the-gtc/mental-health-and-other-helplines.aspx
...The publication could help someone in need and show them the steps to finding a way out. So please, can you retweet/share this far and wide? Thanks 🙏
