This episode of Unsolved Mysteries has really hit me. The episode “No Ride Home” is legit my worst fear when going to a party. Alonzo was the only black person at this party, he had got into a small altercation w/ someone & it was broken up. His friends slowly started to leave-
and the last friend was suppose to go get more cigarettes for them but got lost. He decided to call a friend he knew at the party to tell Alonzo that he won’t be making it back because he had been lost for 30 minutes & ig was just ready to go home at that point.
Alonzo is the only black person at this party, he is drunk (like everyone else most likely), and he had been in an altercation with one of the white guys earlier in the night. I think y’all know where I’m going with this story. Mind you this is an “Unsolved Mystery”.
Let me add that the altercation that Alonzo had at the party was because of his skin color & they speak a little bit about the atmosphere of the town ‘La Cygne, Kansas’. Basically saying that it’s racists.
His friend (Justin) that contacted another friend to tell him he wasn’t going back to the party also told that friend to give Alonso a ride home. That morning Alonso’s mom got a call asking if he was home & she said no.
Justin tells the people in the documentary was that the friend he contacted (Adam) had said that he heard Alonso had already left the party or that they missed each other. Mind you, Justin said that when he called Adam he heard Alonso talking in the background joking about him-
not coming back to the party. So, no knows where Alonso is so his family contacts the police. They try to chuck it up to he’s just out walking. Let me add that his best friend (who was not at the party, they grew up together) goes looking for him and finds his shoes & hat.
The police finally decide to look for him and they find nothing. The family asked if they could join the search & they were told no. A month later the police decided to let them join the search. Alonso was found by his uncle near the creek, A MONTH LATER.
In an area that should have been thoroughly search by police already but clearly was not. It took his family one day to find his body & the police found NOTHING for a whole month.
I said all of this to say that things like this are why I didn’t understand the hate that @challxxn received on that one video a couple of months ago.
His death is still undetermined btw...
