since people don't know beauty of south asian countries and think only about the mainland culture and do ca every min here is a thread for y'all -

and I hope people see this and consider why we say it is "desi ca" when we see certain jewelleries and I'm gonna keep updating this thread when I see beautiful pictures of south asian traditions and credits to the owners of pictures !!!!!!!
gonna start with my state

this is from Karnataka, where most of us wear sari especially silk which we are famous for!!!!

I'm gonna stop my captions since I don't wana give wrong facts out

why do we shout "ca" when someone does the hand signature is because it's very significant in Bharatnatyam since every hand gesture has a meaning behind it and we don't do it without doing the namskar at the start !!!
you see what's on their head??? that jewellery piece is called maang tikka and has different names in different parts so when when we see any non south Asians wearing it we call it "desi ca"

this is a dance from Odisha called odissi!! it has similarties with Bharatanatyam in clothing but no if u look closely you will notice the difference !!
these are from West Bengal too and these are from poush mela where they have a dance called Santhali folk dance
so now we move to the north eastern community who gets called names every fuckin min I want to say that THEY TOO ARE SOUTH ASIANS AND DO NOT CALL THEM NAMES
these are from yimchungar tribe (I couldn't get pictures of lot of tribes cause there are round 645 tribes in india only
)

and they have dance called manpuri !! which is also called jagoi and mainly they perform raslila (radha and krishna two hindu gods dance)
here is a thread from a north eastern (I can't explain more or show more cause I'm not from there hence it's better from the people of that place
