Keep a class exercise book per class and a class folder per class. On the front, have the number of students in the class. So you know how many sheets to photocopy. Also in your exercise book. Every lesson. Write the title and date. And add important info. Such as...
Who was late. Forgotten their book. Missed homework. And any modelled pieces should stay in your book. Also originals of worksheets. So you can keep on track with your class.
Also- de-clutter your display board and think about potential distractions in your room. Remove and reduce these.
Instil common dyslexia friendly methods in your teaching for everybody.
Sans serif font.
Off white background.
Size 14 font.
Try using a standardised PowerPoint.
Concentrate on your language.
Reword items. Instead of. Why havnt you. Try, can I help you with?
When challenging non compliance, flip the script and praise compliance and challenge anonymously. Eg. We have 3 people who have not started. Excellent to those that have. Now down to 1. Great 100% of you have started.
Give live feedback with ease; try red dot marking.
Know and understand the difference between marking for errors and marking for mistakes.
