bc i’m bored im gonna do a thread on my experience as a sales assistant at some high end shoe shop in london (i won’t bait out which one in fear of being sued for defamation)
okay: firstly they didn’t tell me when i applied that I WOULD HAVE TO MF GREET EVERY PERSON WHO WALKS IN. do you know how embarrassing it is saying hello to people who air you??? dfkm.
you also have to approach them and ask for help. i basically became who people hate when they go into stores.

the fact that sales targets meant your colleague who you chat to on the regs becomes your opp the second a potential customer comes in is mad. i will acc cut niggas off if they steal a customer from me

ur also expected to not only convince a customer to buy a pair of £100+ shoes but sell shoe care w it. these customers did not see the fear in my eyes when i kept begging them to buy £9 shoe protector spray with their purchase. it became my livelihood.
i realised i had to dash from this shitty place when a customer shushed me in the middle of my shoe care monologue kmt.
within month two i secretly applied for another job and got it but didn’t know how to dash without coming across as a massive dickhead so i lied to my manager and said i had to go back to africa bc of a family problem
