LinkedIn is copying the contents of my clipboard every keystroke. IOS 14 allows users to see each paste notification.

I’m on an IPad Pro and it’s copying from the clipboard of my MacBook Pro.

Tik tok just got called out for this exact reason.
I don’t think this violates any specific laws but it definitely will make more people nervous when handling sensitive data on devices.

Tik Tok responded to the issue saying that it is “triggered by a feature designed to identity repetitive, spammy behavior” 🤔
Similar to @Jeremyburge ‘s find on TikTok. Other apps have been called out as well (Call of Duty, Accuweather, AliExpress, Google News, Overstock, and Paetron) https://twitter.com/jeremyburge/status/1275896482433040386
Here is LinkedIn copying and pasting from my notes app “Bear”
I wonder how long this has been going on 😅 I haven’t seen any news about LinkedIn doing this so I wanted to put it out there.
UPDATE: Seems like Reddit is capturing the clipboard on each keystroke as well 😕

Seeing the notification come up just as much.
Going to try to find some other apps doing this as well and compile a list.

Stay tuned 🕵️‍♂️👀
I took last night and this morning to write up the real problem here and what it means for our privacy.

I also included a list of apps I’ve found to be accessing clipboard data and will continue to update it as companies respond.
