The support for BLM & for George Floyd didn’t just come out of nowhere. The Black community put in their time, their effort, & their hearts into the movement, to get it to where it is today. Did y’all think that organizing & movements just *happen* out of nowhere?
If we want to get more support, then WE have to put in the work. We can’t just keep asking “But what about us? Where is our support?” That question & sentiment is rooted in anti-Black racism & entitlement.
And y’all better not start with that “well we supported BLM so Black people should support us too!” bullshit cause the Black community has BEEN supporting the non-Black Latinx community thru & thru.
What happened to Vanessa is so fucking ugly. We gotta dismantle the military-industrial complex & abolish the US military so that nobody has to EVER go thru what she went thru again & so that it can’t harm anyone else. WE must put in work & fight for her justice.
