Is it just me that has this experience, or is windows audio just always always always a hot mess? The number of devices I end up with is not the same as the devices I have or are actually connected. Getting my system to output to *all* my speakers is basically impossible
Audio in VR is always the most screwy buggy thing, despite the fact that VR is solving a lot of REALLY HARD PROBLEMS computationally speaking, we still struggle to get the input and output working properly in every situation.
I spent about 3 hours yesterday just trying to get my speakers working the way I wanted to. A combination of manufacturer websites being terrible, and then the windows store just NOT WORKING to download a recommended tool, like, these should be solved problems.
And I know it's complex and hard to support an essentially infinite configuration of machines + software + audio hardware, but even simple tools to accurately test what's going on and help troubleshoot would be great.
There's no real point to this thread except venting really, and I'm sure at some point I'll have the energy to throw myself at this problem again but right now I'm done with it.
