I'll never forget being at a bar in London in 2016 and asking for ice and the waiter returned with 2 cubes of ice. It was at that moment I understood the difference between American culture and British culture and why the British didn't stand a chance in the revolutionary war
In the 15 years that I had lived in America I had never been served two cubes of ice when I asked for "some ice". America is built on the concept of more. More ice. More options. More everything.
I remember going shopping at Tesco and realizing that they have only 3 brands of peanut butter. I was sick to my stomach. In America you can find 16 brands of peanut butter at a safeway. You aren't limited to just 2 brands that's damn near tyranny
In England people are fine with managing two cubes of ice. In America, the ice machine gives you as much ice as you could possibly want. why should you have to settle for only two cubes when you can have the entire ice machine ?
Americans will always have contempt for the British. Anyone willing to live in a country that will limit them to 2 cubes of ice doesn't understand the importance of liberty. This is why the Puritans crossed the sea so they could have more of everything life has to offer
