Did some more digging, it's a Latin proverb, one I didn't know but now immediately love.

"a fronte praecipitium, a tergo lupi"

"A precipice in front, wolves behind", which I would read as analogous to "between a rock and a hard place". Only with more wolves.

...not really a proverb. I grabbed at the wrong word. More of a saying.

Anyway, the point is, somewhere up there in the distance, earlier in this thread, there was some music you might like to listen to. I swear it's better than me trying to translate Latin.
