To the new investor,

Another term you may have heard of but don’t fully understand.

Dividend Aristocrat

⬇️THREAD⬇️
Investors love Dividend Aristocrats.

Why?

A Dividend Aristocrat is a company that reliably pays out and increases its dividend year on year.

The minimum amount of time before a company can reach the aristocrat title is 25 straight years of payouts.
25 years of consistency is not always an easy feat for a company to manage, there is usually less then 100 that reach this status.

In 2020, there are just 64 Dividend Aristocrats.
Some of the longest dividend payers are -

American States Water $AWR - 65 years
Dover Corp $DOV - 64 years
Procter & Gamble $PG - 63 years
3M $MMM - 61 years
Johnson & Johnson $JNJ - 57 years
Coca -Cola $KO - 57 years
To a new investor, in my opinion, these would be solid choices, after doing your own research of course.

When looking at what companies to invest in that pay dividends, the large, established companies are the ones to go for.
