Covid is like a test of social cohesiveness. Asians faced it first, and they squashed it with a great level of social cohesion and compliance. Then the pandemic went to EU, many more deaths, but social cohesion succeeded and now deaths and cases are way down.
But Covid hit the USA and it is out of control as a result of the tremendous social injustice the country has. USA is the only country in which access to health care is significantly out of pocket and tied to employment. Insurance for a family of four is around $20k a year.
So Covid, created massive unemployment and a huge health crisis. It left over 10 million outside of the health care system. In the USA Covid is the perfect storm: the only country with high co-pay, deductibles, millions with no health coverage and no mandatory paid sick days.
In this system people who fear they may have Covid do not report it, still go to work, and spread the illness. In Europe companies were given massive aid by the government in a transparent way not to furlough workers. In the USA millions were fired or furloughed...
and whatever aid was given out went in a veil of secrecy, more as a political favor than national policy.

USA has a public education system for all. It is time USA has basic health coverage for all with no co pay, no deductibles, no caps.

Health care is a human right.
