the umbrella academy 5th watch through review thread!!

after ive finished each episode ill summarise my thoughts on it and maybe score it

ill try to keep this as spoiler free as possible but be warned that i may end up spoiling stuff just through the names/summaries of eps

s1 - episode 1 "we only see each other at weddings and funerals"

a brilliant opener to the season, setting up the hargreeves and other plot threads very well. the music used throughout fits the scenes very well (especially the diner fight scene). i love that cliffhanger.

s1 - episode 2 "run boy run"

aaa, a really good lead on from the first ep, introducing leonard quite well and delores properly. still very much getting things going!!! but mysteries are built up. the ending to it always gets me its sad :(

s1 - episode 3 "extra ordinary"

not one of my favourite episodes but!!! it has some heartbreaking emotional moments and continues the run of brilliant fight scenes especially with the music used.
overall its a very tense episode and no one really has a good time tbh

s1 - episode 4 "man on the moon"

aaaa, such a good episode. some of my favourite klaus stuff in the series and some much needed cool development stuff for everyone. especially hazel and cha cha!! also probably the most brutal episode wise so far hhh :(

s1 - episode 5 "number five"

easily my favourite episode of the season. all the character stuff is brilliant in what it sets up and happens int he episode. shoutout to the outro sequence for being probably my favourite in the season. happy together slaps

s1- episode 6 "the day that wasn't"

i love this episode so fucking much, its a joy to rewatch and notice every detail you didnt notice before. its so interesting with the stuff about causation, and how this goes compared to the next episode, music is bops as usual also.

s1 - episode 7 "the day that was"

probably the darkest episode for me. its just,, such a cruel twist from the previous episode combined with where everyone is by the end of it. :(

overall great stuff though especially with how peoples actions change in this episode.

s1 - episode 8 "i heard a rumor"

this one hits me hard like that ending, i think as a whole this one of the weaker episodes to me but theres still some great moments and the soundtrack is always on point. its a tragic yet brilliant episode before final 2 on the same day.

s1 - episode 9 "changes"

wild ride of a penultimate episode, its pretty tragic tbh with where everyone ends up before the finale. anyway the hazel fight scenes are brilliant and ellen page shines as vanya in this :( overall one of my favs i think

s1 - episode 10 "the white violin"

gives me shivers this finale, the ending is so cool and so powerful. even if it is quite sad everything considered :(

anyway klaus and ben get big moment along with vanya and others i love it, cant wait to see s2 !
