There have been many times that Nick Tilsley (Ben Price’s version) didn’t get the help and support he needed during difficult times
Here’s a thread of the few times Nick got the support he needed and the many times he didn’t, which lead to him helping himself and others

1. Nick and Natasha
When Nick found out that Natasha was pretending she was pregnant and she actually aborted the baby, Nick was of course devastated. But he didn’t have enough time to deal with his feelings because soon after Natasha tried to take her own life
When Nick found out that Natasha was pretending she was pregnant and she actually aborted the baby, Nick was of course devastated. But he didn’t have enough time to deal with his feelings because soon after Natasha tried to take her own life
Nick was fully distressed about Natasha’s suicide attempt and he felt he had to help her. This resulted in him ignoring his feelings about the abortion and pushing them deep down, which lead to him not overcoming them properly
Leanne was the only one who helped Nick properly after Natasha’s suicide attempt. She was there with him and allowed him to open up about his feelings.
His family wasn’t properly helpful, especially Gail who was too occupied about knowing she was right about Natasha

2. The tram crash
This event was where Nick got the most help
After escaping from the tram crash, his family were immediately there to quickly help him
Then, when Nick was accused of being responsible for the tram crash, his family were always on his side

He had Gail and Audrey defending him, even when he wasn’t around
Even Rita helped him and gave him encouraging words
Gail again showed her support towards Nick and Leanne was there to comfort him too

BUT, this was the only time Nick had this much support
And the next events were more personal and caused more damage towards Nick

3. Nick’s brain injury
Nick got his brain injury during an accident after he revealed to David that he slept with Kylie, and David indirectly caused the van to be in the path of upcoming lorry
While Nick shouldn’t had slept with Kylie, he didn’t deserved to be brain damaged

While Nick shouldn’t had slept with Kylie, he didn’t deserved to be brain damaged
Of course, the family and Leanne did helped Nick during his time at the hospital and earlier on in his recovery
But with a big injury like a brain injury, you need continuous help and neither his family or Leanne gave him that
But with a big injury like a brain injury, you need continuous help and neither his family or Leanne gave him that
At first the family wanted to punish David, but then they wanted him back and they focused more on fixing the relationship between David & Kylie than helping Nick. Plus Nick had to help David despite the accident
Also, Leanne ended up having an affair with Kal behind Nick’s back
Also, Leanne ended up having an affair with Kal behind Nick’s back
This lead to Nick having to cope with his recovery from his brain damage on his own
Even though Nick gained a disability after the accident, he couldn’t fully depend on his family and his wife at the time to help him fully recover and deal with his disability, a brain injury

4. Nick and Erica’s miscarriage
Nick (Ben Price’s version) has always wanted to be a dad, and he had a chance to be one with Erica
Sadly, she had a miscarriage which left Nick devastated and worried about Erica

Nick didn’t get any proper help
Erica wanted to deal with the miscarriage on her own. Instead of helping Nick; David wanted to discuss how Nick didn’t truly love Erica, Carla was telling Nick he needs to help Erica and Gail ended up fighting with Eileen over Michael

I have gone into more depth about that scene where Carla tried to help Nick, but she didn’t help him properly
I also think this scene summaries how people don’t actually help Nick, as it results in him helping himself and others https://twitter.com/benpricefanclub/status/1216791813077512192

5. Nick has problems with his brain injury
When Nick’s brain injury was affecting him more than usual, he only talked to David about it, which lead to him going to a specialist so he can deal with his brain injury problems
When Nick’s brain injury was affecting him more than usual, he only talked to David about it, which lead to him going to a specialist so he can deal with his brain injury problems
Nick only talking to David about his brain injury makes sense, as David was the only one to notice and Nick didn’t want to tell anyone and he’s used to helping himself
With that said, he didn’t realise how helpful Carla can be and when she found out, she was very helpful to him
With that said, he didn’t realise how helpful Carla can be and when she found out, she was very helpful to him
However, Carla’s help was not for long as Nick’s brain injury problems arised soon before his and Carla’s wedding, where he found out about Carla’s lies
6. Carla’s lies
At Nick and Carla’s wedding, Nick found out that Carla slept with Robert behind his back and that she made him sell the Bistro to Robert and Tracy
Nick felt utterly betrayed and he felt all the happiness he had with Carla was a lie

Nick felt utterly betrayed and he felt all the happiness he had with Carla was a lie
At first only Leanne was there to help Nick. But she became pregnant with Steve’s child, so she had to focus on that and Nick wanted to help her
Also, Sarah was suffering from psychosis and David was grieving Kylie’s death, so they couldn’t help Nick and Nick had to help them
Also, Sarah was suffering from psychosis and David was grieving Kylie’s death, so they couldn’t help Nick and Nick had to help them
So Nick didn’t get the proper help he needed after his wedding to Carla. Due to this, he didn’t make a full recovery which lead to him developing early stages of paranoia, which no one properly noticed
7. Nick’s paranoia
Nick’s dream is to be married to Leanne and for them to have their own child
So when Oliver was born, Nick thought being a dad to Oliver would be the closest thing to living his dream
But during this time he became paranoid, especially about Peter and Steve

So when Oliver was born, Nick thought being a dad to Oliver would be the closest thing to living his dream
But during this time he became paranoid, especially about Peter and Steve
He believed people were trying to tear him away from Leanne and Oliver, e.g. he thought Peter was trying to get back with Leanne and Steve deliberately tried to overdose Oliver
This behaviour became tough for people around him to deal with, yet he didn’t get any proper help

David tried to warn Nick about his paranoia, but it was not enough and David was still grieving
Gail tried to help Nick by telling him to leave Leanne, but she didn’t help his paranoia
So Nick had to help himself and do what he thought was best for Leanne, so he left the street
Gail tried to help Nick by telling him to leave Leanne, but she didn’t help his paranoia
So Nick had to help himself and do what he thought was best for Leanne, so he left the street
All this shows that Nick mainly has to help himself and help others despite his own problems
This has lead to Nick being used to helping himself and making it hard for him to reach out for help, even when he really needs it
