I absolutely love the symbolism and depth of the lore in BC. It’s addictive to learn about

I love the deep connections of the aspects of the story. Everything ever is related in some way, you can tell it was planned out awhile ago

A truly wonderful take on fantasy genre honestly.

A pure unbridled hype machine

The subtlety of the writing. Tabata’s delicate foreshadowing and hints always amazes me

The pacing is a blessing at times for impatient people like me but my god does it hold the story back in what has sooo much potential.

Lack of consequences. Death aside, we don’t have enough devastating consequence, from a battle besides asta’s arms being broken from Vetto and his exile after defeating Zagred

Emotional moments hit when they happen but don’t last as long as they need to. Too much oddly placed humor to tide over the idea of “awkwardness” from the emotional aspect.

Forced and poorly executed redemptions. Characters who were abusive or evil get a brief moment explaining their poor motivations and walk away with a slap on the wrist and become “good” when our MC’s take them back with open arms.

The gags... they can be likable or funny but too much dependency on them. Idk how Noelle or Vanessa would be their own person if they were not a tsundere or alcoholic. (1/2)

(2/2) also the gags are too reoccurring. If a character is beautifully developed they go back to their one-liner for another 30 chapters still the script demands to shine on their development again.

Asta and Yuno have a great relationship but a mediocre rivalry.

Asta can promote development in people but also reinforce their gags: Yuno and Noelle for example.

Langris was a great villain for the tournament arc

random attempted rapes. We’ve had about 3-4 so far and the only ones that make some sense were the scene in Candelo fortress for chapter 229 since soldiers of that nature tend to do that. However it is used randomly for the males to look strong and is getting

Uncomfortable

Charmy is the epitome of one-dimensional but she’s cute and very useful so no one minds it.

Tabata has lightning pacing but takes WAYYY too long to develop a character or explain an element of the story that was introduced ages ago.

Charlotte is cool but nearly her entire character is loving Yami

The devil designs are lacking but also kinda cool in a weird way

Yuno has real depth but the issue was always that it’s WAY too subtle and I don’t blame people for overlooking it

(1/2) Too much favoritism towards Clover Kingdom/Black Bulls. Diamond and Heart Kingdom get Handled with only clover standing a decent chance. Most of the spirits are in clover and I won’t be surprised if Noelle got Undine somehow

(2/2) The Black Bulls are the only squad to get focused on and have no possibilities of death unlike the GD who lost half their members

Shock value. The use of large-scale lethal injuries, the attempted rapes I mentioned, repetitive cliffhangers, just for the predictable to occur is trash honestly.
