THREAD ON THE ONGOING SEXUAL ASSAULT ACCUSATIONS AND ABUSE BY @rhymesayers @atmosphere. I'm SHOCKED that not more people are talking about this. I'm even more shocked that no one is bringing up the fact that a 16 y/o girl was raped and murdered at Slug's show in 2003. +
Before I get into the recent accusations, its important to address the past. Looking at the past exposes patterns. Patterns expose everything about someones true character. I bring this up to address the lack of accountability & to show how damaging complicity & ignorance can be.
Their history of sweeping violence under the rug runs deep. Their history of complicity runs deep. So deep that a fan got murdered because of their carelessness. And they've done nothing to try & rectify it. They cannot use male ignorance as their excuse.
In '03 at Slug's concert in New Mexico, a 16 y/o girl named Marissa Mathy-Zvaifler was brutally raped & murdered by a janitor @ the venue. The murderer, Dominic Akers, lured her in by promising to bring her to meet Slug backstage. in '02, he was found guilty of rape, criminal
sexual penetration, &other crimes. He was sentenced to 33 years in prison, but since he had a low I.Q, the judge let him out with 5 years probation. He strangled Marisa, raped her, brought her body to a different location to keep raping her, then discarded her body behind a
vending machine at the venue the next day. Many artists run background checks on staff at venues before booking. Why wasn't this done, KNOWING that there would be underaged CHILDREN at this concert? Where is the responsibility he needed to have for his fans?
Why didn't they bother to have better security? Why wasn't anyone concerned with the integrity of the people running this event? Because they didn't give a fuck. It wasn't a thought. The safety of their fans, of women, of CHILDREN, didn't even cross their fucking minds.
And what have they done SINCE 03 for the family? What have they done in her memory to be better fucking people? What have they done to protect survivors since then? NOTHING. They have only participated in disgusting cycles that has perpetuated even more violence.
"Slug knew he wasn't responsible... Slug says he saw Marissa's death as "my transition to try to be a more responsible artist not just to the audience but to myself."

Waiting for your "transition" to happen has led to countless more CHILDREN & WOMEN BEING ABUSED.
I bring this situation up because he never assumed accountability for this. He put out a song. Like. Thanks dude. A child was raped and murdered -- and you're still here, 17 years later, protecting your friends who are serial abusers. You still have no protocol at shows.
We're still waiting for his fucking "transition" 17 yrs later. We're still waiting for him to have learned something. But he hasn't. This is the type of people that they are. They hide behind tragedies and movements in attempts to look like "good guys," when they're the bad ones.
Silence is complicity. Women came to you and told you about your friends. There is NOT A CHANCE IN THE WORLD that you haven't seen/heard your friends abusive behavior. And for that, your hands are soaked in blood. This isnt even about your lyrics. This is about YOUR ACTIONS
or lack thereof. It's more than just Slug's silence and complicity. It's shit like the whole team rocking with people like punk ass rapist and abuser C-Rayz Walz who's trying to jack that hes innocent while fighting 32 fucking charges that range from sodomy to kidnapping to rape
It's them not condemning his actions or denouncing him. Its them always on some performative bullshit. WHEN YOU ARE MADE AWARE OF ABUSE IN YOUR CIRCLE AND DO NOT OUT THEM, BUT INSTEAD, CONTINUE TO PROTECT THE ABUSER, YOU BECOME PART OF THE CYCLE. YOU BECOME AN ENABLER. UR GUILTY.
I wonder, what do a group of abusers do when they're in a room together? You really think they're holding eachother accountable for their actions? Their actions prove otherwise. Their will be no justice until we demand justice. That's just what we're going to have to do.
Linked below are the stories of the survivors that are coming forward. Hear them, and fucking believe them. Fuck anyone and everyone that rocks with these @rhymesayers fools. Y'all will get what the fuck you deserve.

Please add any more stories that I missed. These women need to be heard. This needs to be addressed. There needs to be justice for the survivors.
It seems like ppl have a hard time understanding how these patterns go hand in hand with abuse. Not every abusive act is physical; remember, the mind is what’s taken advantage of first. Those patterns are just as abusive as physical violence, and are torturous. I brought up the
Murder of Slugs fan, Marissa, to point out that he is STILL friends w/abusers, is STILL complicit with violence via his silence, and is even going after young girls. He said he would be more responsible after her death, and all he’s done is continue a pattern of abusive behavior
He is not solely responsible for her murder. But he was a factor in that there were no protocols put in place to protect his younger fans or women. His pattern of complicity (over what he says, actions speak louder than words) reveals that he wouldn’t of cared to do so in the
First place. My point in bringing up Marissa’s murder is to show how the most extreme and violent example of abuse happened while he was having a concert, and even tho it “impacted him like crazy,” it didn’t impact him enough to start caring about women. About children. There’s
Some women that are coming forward saying that he’s exemplified predatory behavior. My point, again, in bringing that murder up, was that it might’ve affected him — but he never changed. His apologies have always been performative. And were always more to cover for his friends
Than to actually apologize. He says in his most recent apology that he LOVES rhymesayers. But almost all of rhymesayers were just outted as abusers — how do you denounce all abuse but say you love abusers? It only makes sense if you 1. Don’t actually care but need to save
Your career, or 2., if you’re an abuser yourself. I would understand that. You can’t help but contradict yourself.
Everyone picking apart the logistics of verifying background checks for venue employees is missing the point entirely. It’s a simple question you or someone on your team has to ask. This was a post 9/11 world. Security verification wasn’t a “crazy” thing to worry about then
And even then — a terrorist attack doesn’t have to justify your question, which, is solely for the sake of protecting your audience. YOU are paying the venue, YOU have a right to ask questions. HE assumed responsibility when he said he was going to be a more responsible artist
Moving forward. But that was an empty promise. He never denounced abuse until it threatened his career, even though it surrounded him for the entire course of it. That’s how you know. He never. Fucking. Cared.
