#blackouttuesday is a great start. But one day will NOT provide the change we need. The Montgomery bus boycott lasted for 381 days. It brought the bus company to its knees. The city was desperate to end it.
THIS is the energy we need. #Blackout needs to last longer than a day. It needs to become a lifestyle until we see REAL change.
A lot of y’all heavy with the “I’m nOt mY aNcEsTors” but still quick to give your money to establishments that don’t care about you. Amerikkka talks with coins. We need to speak their language.
Need groceries? Check out your local community garden or farmers market. Many are black owned or run by BLM comrades.
Need household appliances? There’s a black owned business for that! There are also many small business owners that are comrades of the movement.
Need clothes? Check out your local thrift store. Most of turn donate the money to causes that support those who are oppressed in this country. It’s better than giving your money to store brands that either a) use slave labor or b) see black people as a means to increase profit
