This is both hilarious and sad la I was incredulous when she told me as well. To her kid brain the "other races" talked abt in class just felt like stuff from stories. Highlights the gulf in our cIvIcS & MoRaL eDuCaTiOn. Our kids need comprehensive discourse about race/ religion.
The whole point of this thread (those who have replied with their experiences thank you for speaking up!) was to highlight that VB& #39;s statement about schools can& #39;t be taken as fact.
The state cannot preach racial harmony while supporting Chinese elitism/ constantly prioritizing Mandarin, and CME is not a replacement for lived experience, especially when it comes to kids.

Yes we were brought there, but all those excursions weren& #39;t sufficient (as can be seen from all the comments) and as an adult looking back they were quite superficial? Yeah hopefully more effort would be spent revising our curriculum/ set-up of our education systems as we actively work towards being an inclusive society instead of speaking over communities with the constant refrain of "it& #39;s not that bad"
