Here is a policy report I organized and worked on called, "Combating White Supremacy in a Pandemic: Antiracist, Anticapitalist, and Socially Just Policy Recommendations in Response to COVID-19." w/ @cjacksonAR @Alex_Hanson23 @gonzlaur @DrCCedillo

http://journalofmultimodalrhetorics.com/combating-white-supremacy-in-a-pandemic-antiracist--anticapitalist--and-socially-just-policy-recommendations-in-response-to-covid-19
In it we "consider the pandemic in an environment of white supremacy and economic disparity, suggest policies for institutions and communities, suggest areas of research for scholars and organizers who deal with ethics, marginalized populations, and issues of equity and access,
and create a framework of discussion for folks to take up this work in their communities." I went through tons of COVID data on infection and death rates intersected with race and class and summarized and synthesized predictive models. In short, it's bleak.
The contributors write about policy that is centered on race, labor, LGBTQIA+ folks, immigrants/migrants, caretakers, motherhood, housing rights, disability, and language access. The doc is written in English and Spanish.
I just am so amazed by these folks. We hope that it serves as a resource for folks on reopening committees or as a way to advocate locally. Thank you to all of my coauthors. I'm honored that you contributed on this.

And thank you to @DrCCedillo for giving us the space on @MultimodalRhets
Thought about sending this to the WPA-L but it's a trash fire. If anyone wants to though please do!
One of the recurring points in the data is we are in this for the next 2 yrs. This isn’t going away&only being contained if we follow strict measures. We can’t ignore what this will do to our commmunities. It will be decimating. We have to put policies in place to mitigate harm.
Finally wanted to say thank you to @DrIbram and @AntiracismCtr Without their data on race and COVID we could not have complete this report.
As more reports come out, I'm going to add them to this thread: https://twitter.com/drchingona/status/1280897202727137280?s=20
