This challange looked fun. July 1st to the 30th.
Shoutout to @Lost_CapriSun for the inspiration. First song coming soon.
Day 1: Title screen music. Wasn’t sure how to approach this one but decided on Cave Story’s Main Theme (also known as Plantation). While I haven’t played the game I’ve listend to the soundtrack and it is great.
Day 2: Opening level music. This one was much harder to decide. I was stuck between Mega Man X3’s opening, Shantae’s burning town theme, and Doom’s e1m1. All rockin tunes, but ultimately decided on this.
Day 3: 8-bit music.
There are way too many good 8-bit tracks to listen too, Contra, Castlevania, Megaman. One song that I really enjoy but always forget the name of is Ninja Gaidan’s Act 4-2 theme, Unbreakable Determination.
Day 4: Music from a console exclusive series. Don’t know too many console exclusive series so I decided on Donkey Kong Country on the SNES. DKC2’s Hot Head Bop is a calm melody that’s so relaxing I could fall asleep to it.
Day 5: Hub world/Overworld music.
Out of all the overwold themes in Chrono Trigger, Yearning of Wind (600 ad) is the one that always comes to my mind. Very relaxing but also mystical at the same time.
Day 6: Music that makes you feel relaxed.
Undertale’s theme of Home is the most relaxing song. It really captures the feeling of sitting cozy at home with your drink of choice, either by yourself or with loved ones.
Day 7: Music from an indie game.
Shantae is my favorite games series and while Seven Sirins is one of the best entries yet, the soundtrack doesn’t hit as hard as i hoped. Coral Mines however is an amazing and memorable dungeon song, so good it’s used twice
Day 8 (late): Music from a first/third-person shooter.
Hail to the king, baby.
Day 9: Music from a licensed game.
A weird addition but I can’t think of a lot of licensed games soooo, Gremlins 2 for NES....what?!
Day 10: RPG battle music.
Been playing this game with my girl recently. Has a pretty catchy and enjoyable battle theme to it!
