There are tens of thousands of named asteroids and depending on where they are in your chart (natally or by transit) can provide tons of nuance to your perspective on your chart's aspects/transits. This works with mundane astrology, too, so let's talk about asteroid 3206, Wuhan.
Most of what I tweet here will be taken from @AnneOrtelee's blog posts + weekly newsletters because she's a genius and has been tracking asteroid Wuhan for a while, as well as the blog post on Wuhan by Brenda Wilson on Demetra George's site found here: https://demetra-george.com/blog/asteroid-wuhan/
First off, looking at the USA's Sibley chart, the natal placement of asteroid Wuhan is situated right on top of the fixed star, Al Gol, which ICYDK is like the most evil piece of shit star in the sky, period. Al Gol = electrocution, violence, beheadings, basically all things bad
Asteroid Wuhan was in Sagittarius (1H of the USA's natal chart) a sign which (according to Wilson) is tied to concepts such as the Wild Animal Trade, which is what many believe is the reason that covid-19 was first transmitted to humans.
Asteroid Wuhan entered Capricorn and became co-present with Saturn, Jupiter, and Pluto, on January 10--just two days before the Saturn/Pluto conjunction went exact. Jan 10 is also when China reported its first covid-related death.
Right after Wuhan left Sag and entered Capricorn, the first case of covid-19 was reported in Thailand on January 13. Just like asteroid Wuhan jumped into a new sign, the virus itself jumped into a new country, and became an international health issue.
It's not insignificant that this was on the same day the Sun was conjunct Pluto at 22º Capricorn. When a planet is conjunct the Sun, the Sun basically takes that planet's vibes/energy/whatever you wanna call it and gives it a major glow up, as if the Sun is radiating that energy.
Since Pluto rules destruction, transformation, and world affairs (among other things) it only makes sense that the Sun/Pluto conjunction was the transit that marked coronavirus' grand appearance on an international level. It's also worth noting that Wuhan was conjunct the S Node+
+ at the same time. As Wuhan began applying to Jupiter (in its fall) around Jan 30, when WHO was all like "yall its a pandemic." Jupiter = abundance and expansion. Whatever Jupiter touches becomes engorged, because Jupiter is the planet of unbound, rapid growth.
Since Jupiter is in its fall, however, all of that growth and expansion won't necessarily come about in a happy/lucky/productive/Jupiterian way, hence covid-19's unbelievably fast transmission to humans around the globe.
Asteroid Wuhan IRL is in the asteroid belt that sits between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter, and like many of these asteroids moves rather slowly. Wuhan inched further and further along in Capricorn, getting closer and closer to Jupiter, Pluto, and Saturn, until March 9.
Monday, March 9 was a bad day for the economy, the USA's stock market crashed and hit a low point which the likes of hasn't been seen since the Great Depression. Wuhan and Jupiter formed an exact conjunction just a couple of days prior.
Not only that, however--March 9 was also the day that Mars was at 22º Capricorn, activating the point of the Saturn/Pluto conjunction in January. Mars was also exactly conjunct Jupiter at 22º Cap, Wuhan was at 23º Cap, Pluto at 24º Cap, and Saturn at the anaretic 29º of Capricorn
The official term of this many celestial bodies conjunct in one sign is "stellium" but in this case I think a more fitting name would be a goddamn astrological clusterfuck...
On March 21 Saturn entered Aquarius, just a few days after the USA rec'd that businesses close down and social distancing practices be implemented. Saturn is blockages and boundaries, and Aquarius is a social air sign, so this is a very LITERAL manifestation of Saturn in Aquarius
The USAs numbers of coronavirus cases skyrocketed and passed the number of China's coronavirus cases on March 27, and on April 5, right after, the Jupiter/Pluto conjunction went exact, beginning this narrative of destruction, expansion, and transformation that will last all year.
Wuhan entered Aquarius and conjoined with Saturn on April 15. Mars (trad. significator of illness, disease) was still conjunct, but separating, from Saturn at the same time.
Mars carried on, moved through Aquarius, and entered Pisces over the next several weeks, and eventually ran into Neptune on June 13, which was unfortunately one of those days where there was a big spike in new cases. In the meantime, however, Wuhan was still stirring shit up!
Asteroid Wuhan typically moves 1º in the zodiac per four days, but it was moving extremely slowly in April and May, as it was approaching its retrograde. On May 30, Wuhan stationed retrograde, and just in time, too, because Saturn began its retrograde on May 11!
What this means is that Wuhan and Saturn have been within orb of a conjunction ever since people went from "oh wow what a scary disease" to "holy shit, this is a pandemic," and will continue to move through the zodiac, hand in hand, until the end of the year. Love that for us.
And of course in the midst of all this we were dealing with Venus Retrograde, pushing us to reanalyze the ways we communicate and relate with each other because, ya know, social distancing, lol. It bears repeating that these aspects are a goddamn astrological clusterfuck, yall
Wuhan and Saturn are still co-present in Aquarius. Today, the second pass of the Jupiter/Pluto conjunction went exact, with both planets retrograde, at 24º Capricorn. Saturn re-enters Capricorn this Wednesday, on July 1. It's no longer co-present Wuhan, but is still conjunct.
On July 4 (or July 5 depending on the time zone) there's a Lunar Eclipse at 13º Capricorn, directly opposite the USA's natal Sun, so news re: coronavirus being published will likely be 1) abundant and 2) not great.
In a week, on July 8, Wuhan rx will re-enter Capricorn, becoming co-present Saturn, Pluto, and Jupiter once again, and begins approaching another conjunction with Pluto and Jupiter. As the month goes on, Wuhan will conjoin Saturn, and on July 30, it will conjoin Pluto.
Fast forward to August 30. Wuhan rx finally bumps into Jupiter, which expands everything it touches, and then just... stops. It doesn't move one inch, because August 30 is when Wuhan's retrograde ends, and it stations direct so it can blast through Saturn/Pluto AGAIN
