So after losing lakhs of followers he still has 10.4 million followers! Why? What does he do with that sorta reach? And he's not even a "hero". On #doctorsday when I'm being flooded with Doctors are heroes WA fwds I have to wonder how sincere these are. 1/n

I'm not sure why Karan Johar or his ilk deserve the kinda adulation and following they have. They barely use the platform. So on #doctorsday2020 here's my list of doctors i follow who are hero material and should be followed more. Advance apologies to ppl I've left out 2/n

1st on the list @amitsurg because it's also his bday. But also because he's using his platform to do good. His NGO @PEHL_India with @AnjanaPed does fantastic work in rural India. Plus on occasion he puts out videos/audios of his guitar playing. Total Rockstar 3/n

@AnushaRohit follow because she's been actively spreading good evidence based info on infection control which is especially relevant during these Covid times. Certified #Covidwarrior 4/n

No doctor I follow has done a better job of informing ppl about Covid numbers and its meaning than @DoctorLFC. But he also hasn't lost sight of the primary focus, ie, informing ppl about diabetes control and management. All this with superb humour 5/n

But doctors aren't only about work. And @KetPan and @bijlanirajesh are proof. I'm not entirely sure if there are any pies these 2 dont have their fingers in. But their TL is testament to their multifaceted interests. Plus long passionate discussions 6/n

There are a whole bunch of young docs who constitute my #MedTwitter list. All of them are a lot of fun and my window to what kids like and do these days. @Your_Levodopa @Angriy_BiRd @viswas_mr @aproudempath @ThakurAkshay and many more. 7/n

These are all people who use this platform positively. Whose content is useful and should be widely shared. Maybe one day when society values it's real heroes more than its faux silver screen ones they might get the following they deserve. Till then make do with my thanks! 8/n

One last thing. For most of us a good day is one where we've helped our patients, managed to save a life or 2 and not get beaten up in the process. On #doctorsday2020 we don't need the greetings, just spare us the beatings. /End
