Thread: AK Viswanathan IPS Comm of Police Chennai has been transferred out as he completes 3 yrs. AKV & @Arappor had a rough run over the last year. He is a classic example of a cop failing to be loyal to law & constitution nd instead chose to b loyal to Minister S.P.Velumani.

This thread explains abt the series of fake cases filed by him against @Arappor. In 2017,Arappor released a video on police atrocities & importance of pressurizing d Govt for allocating a place in chennai where citizens can protest in a non violent way like JantarMantar in Delhi

He filed a fake FIR on us for this video. The FIR read that a person got out of a saloon and saw 4 random ppl on road watching d video.The person apparently heard them saying eventhou d video talks abt fighting non violently, it will not work and that police shd be beaten.

d video which was released to promote non violence promoted violence said d FIR. After we released SP velumanis Corruption, he along with contractors filed 15 defamation cases. The injunction sought to not allow us from talking abt him was dismissed by High court on June 4, 2019

I met AKV on June 20, 2019 to seek permission for Water crisis protest. He told me that hes under pressure from SPV to not give any permission to Arappor & said that I shd meet with SPV and sort it out. I rejected his offer nd came out.We got permission from court for the protest

Right after my rejection to meet with SPV, AKV started filing series of fake cases against us. On July 7, he stopped our Know ur rights indoor meeting by getting his police to threaten the mandapam owner. One July 13,15 and 19 he filed 3 FIRs on us.

July 13 for a lake visit by Arappor vols which we have been doing for 3 yrs to restore lakes. Detained vols for no reason and then got a local admk guy to complain that our waterbody head scolded him as 'chee poda'. I was not part of the lake visit but police named me as A1.

July 15, a FIR was filed on complaint by SI of Semmenchery PS . The reason is that I spoke abt the construction of the police station on the lake based on RTI docs we got from CMDA saying. They said that my video on the encroachment will create public alarm & riot.

July 19, Arappor had booked a mandapam for Know ur rights in Pervallur for july 14. The Ins went & threatened the mandapam owner to not allow & gave a letter that he will face consequences if allowed. The same ins filed a FIR that we cheated the public by not conducting the event

2 FIRs were filed by CCB for videos on Chennai Corporation corruption. Interestingly injunction sought by SPV on the same video has been dismissed by High court & yet the police had the audacity to do this.

1 more fake FIR has been filed based on complaint by Constronics India Director Vishnuvardhan, the company which SPV favoured and exposed by us. FIR said that I trespassed a public road in Anna nagar nd threatened them.

In early 2020, Arappor did a KYR program after meeting with JC south, DC, Ac & Ins. Indoor meetings doesnt require police permission in first place. Still we approached knowing AKVs loyalty to SPV. They all gave go ahead. In the middle of d event,Inspector came rushing.

He told me that the DC is asking him to stop d event on instruction from Comm. I told him that it was the DC himself who told the AC and Ins to allow. The Ins was also confused on y they r asking to stop. A FIR was filed on me for conducting the indoor meet.

There r a few more such FIRs filed. I have lost the count and we get to know abt new FIRs from the affidavits they file in court. There r some of these FIRs where he tried harassing us by calling for enquiries often. We used it as an opportunity to educate the police men.

During police enquiries,I tell them this entire story from how SP Velumani did Corruption in Chennai Corporation to how AKV told me to meet him to sort it out to the reason for d pressure on these inspectors to file fake FIR on me. Many of these police after this will say that

now they understand the reason for the immense pressure from Commissioner office on these FIRs and wish us all the best in our efforts. We all must understand that filing fake FIRs is so easy & the top cop AKVs loyalty was towards Minister & his Corruption instead of Constitution

This is y top cops also protect their juniors so much because the top cop often misuse them to file so many fake FIRs and also inflict police torture. This is y adding a murder charge for those sathankulam police is protected by the entire command chain of police as otherwise

they think they will lose control over the juniors if they dont save them in these brutal murders. We need some serious changes. However, AKV had some good qualities. One of it was that he was more accessible to the public as Commissioner than his predecessors.

However, his loyalty to Minister & their Corruption outweighed his good qualities heavily. He became a disgrace to the civil services with this actions. Lets wish AKV in this new post and hope he be loyal to Constitution and desist from filing fake FIRs in his new post.
