Polls are closed in Utah and now the waiting game begins. So I thought I’d share some personal stories or anecdotes about the GOP gubernatorial candidates, one by one.
My first boss was @JonHuntsman. I was a lowly sign coordinator. He knew I lived in Ogden so he let me take the campaign truck home so I didn’t have to drive to SLC every day. He always made me feel like my role was of vital importance. That meant everything to an 18 year old.
In 1993 a man told an audience of 17k at the Marriott Center that he had a bomb in a briefcase and demanded Howard W. Hunter read his manifesto. Many cried. All were scared. @GHughesUtah was one of the first to rush the man, assuring he couldn’t harm anyone. Greater love hath...
I’ve only met @th_wright once. It was at a small gathering and he spoke for nearly two hours. He had a terrific grasp of the issues. Politics made him passionate but his face truly lit up when he introduced the crowd to his daughter. He wasn’t a candidate then—he was a proud dad.
