Little tweet thread because why not.

Nearing the one year mark on my hormones and it has me reflective. I've done my best to take a picture every week to show progress and, more importantly IMO, show something you sometimes don't get in timelines. (1/?) https://imgur.com/a/eyMZ2pS
Lotta trans timelines are cherry picked. This isn't a bad thing! Trans folks deserve to feel good about their pictures. But there's a lot of folks questioning, considering, who look at this and go "I could never look like that!" And it's probably because you don't. (2/?)
Humans look weird by default, because we're surrounded by pop culture of very attractive people. They don't look attractive by default. Every TV star, regardless of gender, wears pounds of makeup to look good on camera. Models have rigid diets and routines. (3/?)
But that's the thing! Yeah we look weird in the day to day but so does everyone else. It's about adjusting your level of weirdness to fit what makes you happy on average. Which means for trans folks, they need to know what it looks like on the way. (4/?)
I don't look great in all of those pictures. I didn't femme it up in all of them. I look way more femme early on than I do later sometimes. It's not a straight line up. It's a trend line of valleys and peaks. And that's okay! It's the trend that matters. (5/?)
It's a year in and sometimes, when I'm not even really trying, I get gendered right. I've gotten ma'amed with two days of stubble. It's a *process*. It's not always an easy one and it sucks to get aggressively sirred but it's gets better over time. (6/?)
I'm not done with it. I won't be done with it until the day I'm in the ground. But no matter your age or body type, you can and will get there with time, even if you're super awkward along the way. Just kinda how things are, can't let it stop you. (7/7)
