alright atsushi is oblivious as shit and so is akutagawa. they tiptoe around each other, use each other to test things out and of course they both catch feelings. but atsushi feels undeserving and akutagawa is unwilling, so they let it die as it is, and stay friends.

of course, that doesn't mean it hurts any less when atsushi goes mia. or when akutagawa gets hurt. or when dazai is the one that gets atsushi, and when chuuya is the one that gets akutagawa. it doesn't mean that
the feeling that something is missing goes away. or that it isn't a

punch to the gut when the realisation that they were meant for each other comes and gets them. but it's too late, isn't it? what can they do now but pine for someone they can never have?

they always worked better as friends, anyway.
