Reviewing twilight zone so far, a thread:
Just saying I did watch season one when it came out I just didn’t say much about it. Also just saying I literally have no fucking clue how to review things. Also also yes I will be constantly be comparing the new episodes to the original episodes in this thread 😼
Episode 1: the comedian

This one was... okay it wasn’t super interesting and the ending where he just begins listing things off and they disappear didn’t have much flavor. 4/10 probably one of my least favorites for this season
Episode 2: nightmere at 30,000 ft

Much better than the first episode but still not perfect. I wasn’t a fan of using the title from the original and then not playing off that concept. But I did like the new concept. I didn’t like the ending very much like everyone on the flight+
just collectively decided to murder this man and then not say anything to the rescuers???? 6/10
Episode 3: replay

THE BEST EPISODE OF SEASON ONE. MWAH. The flavor this episode had was immaculate. Granted like the past two it didn’t have the same ‘feeling’ a twilight zone episode is supposed to have but it was still fantastic. I loved the concept and just the whole+
Progression of the episode it was intense and honestly a camera where the user can rewind as much time as they want IS something that seems like it would be in the twilight zone but still the way it was shot and the overall vibe I guess was off. 9/10
Episode 4: a traveler

This one was just okay I would’ve liked it more if it weren’t for the ending. The ominous aura of the traveler I really liked but the reveal and then cut to black at the end was just offputting it just didn’t sit right. 6/10
Episode 5: the wunderkind

Look I hate him too man fuck trump but this one was just so... obvious. There was no subtly the whole episode was just ‘trump act like child so look we put child in white house’ where’s he build up? Where’s the twist? I didn’t like it 3/10
Episode 6: six degrees of freedom

This one was better than um.. a few.. of the ones before it watching the characters all slowly go crazy was very well done the twist (even tho it wasn’t much of a twist) at the end was pretty well done. It was left open it raised questions and
That’s something the original did and I liked that this episode did that too. 7/10
Episode 7: not all men

Here we go again with shit being too obvious. The title even like could you be any more obvious about the point of this episode where is the FLAVOR. Literally one of he last lines of the episode was something from one of the men saying the virus doesn’t
Infect them all like Jesus fucking Christ they might as well have had Jordan peele come out and say ‘you see what we’re trying to say is some men go apeshit with toxic masculinity but not all men do because how you treat women is a choice’ goodbye. 2/10
Episode 8: point of origin

Probably my second favorite of season one. This one was making a statement on current events without being super obvious. Slowly finding out just a little bit about where the main character was from but never seeing a lot was just so twilight zone esc
And the hope you feel for the mc towards the end that’s crushed right at her family’s reaction and quick rejection to her coming home MMM the flavor point made and point made well done. 9/10
Episode 9: the blue scorpion

Love Chris O’Dowd ofc this episode was okay I feel like magic items are the easiest plot point to write in and make it feel like a twilight zone episode properly. This one was okay 7/10
Episode 10: blurryman

Intense build up was good but just... the reveal goodbye. I loved the shiolloute following the mc wonderful it was great. The end however... didn’t like it. Look I get wanting to pay tribute to rod serling but this ain’t it he looked like a fucking video
Game character if you cannot cgi him in right just don’t make the episode anyways 6/10
