as much as i shit on lqr, it says a lot about his character that he didn't pull ANY political bullshit despite the fact that he acted as sect leader for 20 or so yrs (w/o even being granted the title which is, honestly, the least his bitch ass older brother could've done) and YET
when it comes time for his nephew to become sect leader at the too-young age of 19-ish, he doesn't put up any fuss; he simply lets it happen. in fact, i think it can be reasonably assumed, from how very competent lxc is, that lqr has been training him for this for a long time -
and that takes a certain lack of ego & a certain amount of humility, respect for tradition/sect rules, and devotion to his "place" in society/his family that's consistent with how he's portrayed throughout the story and is, in many ways, very honorable.
lqr had zero ambition or lust for power... with that kind of strong, formative example in his life, is it any wonder that lxc would assume similarly good intent from a certain someone he trusted/cared for deeply? esp if that someone put up a perfect facade of humility for yrs?
