100 DAY FBA - Day 1 (June 22)
I literally spent an hour watching a video titled
"What is FBA"
(Spoiler alert: It's Fulfilled by Amazon)
You create/resell products on Amazon.
- no customer support
- only have to ship once
- you don't to store inventory
So far, so good.

Created a first draft of a budget (45min)
decided that 5k would be good.

Decided on a home decor product.
Logic:
- lightweight (shipping)
- good margin
- no moving parts
- not easily damaged in transit
- no electronic parts
- low return rate

Started negotiating on Alibaba.
Found out that advertised prices are not accurate.
Even if you're ordering only a few hundred pieces, you're going to be paying more.
Had to find another product.

The best pricing is on the Chinese Ali site, 1688(dot)com
- found a new product
- negotiated a fair price
- used WeChat to talk to sales rep.
Much easier than email (YMMV)
- had sample product mailed

Lined up shipping from factory to Shenzhen, which is where the products will fly out of.
Lined up photographer in China to take pictures. The supplier put me in touch and gave me a pretty reasonable rate.
THIS IS ONE WEEK!
Just move forward.!

- Sample products arrived. Quality is actually better than expected.
Pull the trigger on 500 pieces
- Spend 15 minutes thinking of a name and logo to put on the tag
