THREAD: Dear God. It's Really Happening.

Typically, I resent the premise that we're all living in a movie. I'm a large proponent of free will, for starters. To believe that humanity is scripted like dramatic cinema is a no-go for my fundamental philosophy.

For another thing,-

- these are real people suffering with real problems. And though we may debate the real solutions that are coming, or are necessary, I feel like it's degrading to look at the world as if it's merely a movie we're all watching from our safe spaces on Twitter.

But dear God. It's-

- really happening. At least, it's happening all around me.

I'm watching a bunch of people on Twitter live out their days as if they're characters in a movie, all with their part to play. And I'm waiting—desperately waiting—for someone of import to question the premise of our -

- present drama.

If I were to listen to the buzzing hive-mind that is conservative punditry, I'd believe that I'm living through some form of Marxist revolution. And they'd make a very compelling case.

They'd retweet videos of bad things happening all over the country, -

- seemingly neglecting to consider that bad stuff happens all around the country as a default setting. It's just a fact of human life.

Once they've showed you the photos and the videos, and allowed you to hear the stark raving lunacy of Leftists who require a straight jacket as-

- surely as I require air, then they'll just move onto the "Solutions".

This is a slipped premise. You're not allowed to get a proper gauge of the problem, because that will force them to defend their positions. And they can't defend their position, because they don't have an -

- opinion based on reality. They have thoughts and emotions stirred up by cinematic drama made without the help of Hollywood.

What are their solutions to this cinematic revolution happening on the streets of America?

DO SOMETHING!!!

It doesn't get anymore specific than that -

- really. And how could it? In many ways, the problem that allegedly requires a solution... doesn't exist.

Sure, there are really leftists nutjobs rioting ostensibly because someone died. Absolutely, their true reason for rioting is because they're a bunch of Marxists who -

- dream of the country's destruction. Statues and monuments get vandalized. People get hurt. People die.

Those criminals are arrested. They've been getting arrested from the beginning, because it seems like Donald Trump and the critical components of the DOJ are the last two -

- sources of sanity on the planet.

But nobody cares about that. Do you know why? It isn't because these people aren't aware. They're perfectly aware, many of them.

It's because criminals and vandals getting arrested isn't dramatic. And they're living in a drama. Their entire-

- existence has become a movie, and they're desperate for a thrilling and dramatic end.

They want Trump to spearhead a federal response, and efficacy is a secondary concern. The primary concern is drama.

They won't get it. Because, unlike them, he still has a grasp on reality.-

- These people? They won't give up.

When the movie of the Marxist revolution is done playing, their perception of reality won't be cleanesed. They won't start seeing the world as it truly is. Of course not.

They'll go hunting for another movie to play in their heads.

It's as -

- hilarious as it is exasperating.
