Growing food is my act of rebellion ; it’s the most direct way to keep my money away from big business ... every morning , coffee in hand & Blubelle cat toddling with me ; I tend my plants ; grown from seed , with seed collected - My cycle of consumerism dented .

Still have to buy a few things ... like coffee , sugar , flour & rice ... staples & a few treats ; like dark chocolate ...
We are producing almost everything we need in our gardens now & next month we will start construction of our geodesic green house for winter crops .

This new vegetable garden was built with recycled wood & waste from the build of our home - and a tonne of compost from the local farmer ; it took less than 21 days to start producing our first crops ; we haven’t had to buy any fruit or veg for over a month .

Every part of our orchard is becoming productive ; Our little cherry tree has grown so tall ! You can see the start of the orchard with the grove of olives behind ... There’s pumpkin patches , asparagus beds , kale , rhubarb and carrots growing through the trees .

Behind the olives , past the lavender is a little orange grove . We cut the old trees very hard & now the bounty is sweet ; guava , melon , passion fruit , mulberries , apricots & more ! As the new parts of the gardens take form, will share x
