1. (THREAD)Some people seem to be unaware of how our government works.

In general, a candidate running for any seat in federal government can propose the most progressive agenda in the world and it will go nowhere if the party they are affiliated with doesn’t have a majority.
2. If a candidate you support is running under the banner of Democrat, it makes no sense to:

1️⃣Unfairly criticize the Democrats in office now, who cannot pass meaningful legislation because they don’t have a majority.

2️⃣Shit on those who consistently hold democracy together.
3. Look, I get that you have a wish list. I get that you recognize that our government has some serious issues that need to be fixed. Guess we, we get it too. But, ask yourself: are you apart of the solution or the problem?
4. You’re apart of the solution if you recognize that though there are problems, it is not as simplistic as both major parties being equally responsible for the dysfunction.
Thus, you work your ass off—even when it’s not in support of your fave—because you support democracy.
5. You are apart of the problem if you:

✅Act as if your version of progressive is morally superior, or throw a tantrum and vow to not vote for Democrats who don’t pass your purity test because you can’t distinguish the difference between Republicans and Democrats.
6. When you do that, there is NO CHANCE for progress.

With all due respect...GROW THE FUCK UP, learn how government works, and make changes to help move us toward progress.

Nobody owes you a goddamned thing and if you can’t see what’s at stake in 2020, you honestly suck.
7. So in summary:

✅Be apart of the solution.

✅Know the difference between the major parties and be INTELLECTUALLY honest about it.

✅Stop getting caught up in labels and purity tests.

✅Learn how US government works

✅Vote like your life depends on it because it does.
