Just finished watching #ATLA for the first time.

Here are my thoughts.

TW// Some spoilers ahead for those who haven't watched.

:) #AvatarTheLastAirbender
I loved it. 10/10 would recommend and watch again. I like how well done it is and how well written. I think there's a nice balance of humor and serious moments. Alot can be learned from watching the show, not only in wise words, but also watching how the characters communicate
with each other. Not just in the friend relationships, but brother and sister, daughter/son and father, nephew and uncle, etc. I think something I really appreciated was watching the dynamics between the characters and how they interacted. I also liked that alot of times when
conflict arose between characters, they talked it out one way or another. this is probably strange but i liked the convo about whether Zuko could teach Aang/ to let Zuko into the group. While people overlook this convo probably, to me, it said a lot about the maturity of the
characters, the willingness to be honest and open but also the fact that none of them were wrong and each opinion was valid. It's important bc it means when this show came out, this was the type of content kids wld see and that's really good. Everything was out on the table. In
a way ATLA doesn't beat around the bush with these subjects and that's something I really admired about the show.
I think the animation was p good, well done fight scenes and I'm really excited that there's going to be a live action one done by the original creators. I think the
only thing that I didn't like or made me nervous is the speed of season 3. The ending felt rushed. There was always this looming feeling over me that Aang wasn't ready, like he was ready, but he wasn't. I think watching episodically when it came out verses binging it like I did
will produce different results but it felt like some moments weren't relished in enough. Katara really started feeling like more of the main character than Aang, not that thats a bad thing, bc I love Katara, but I think the show gave way to Katara's growth and development as
a waterbender more than Aang's development as the avatar. I feel like Aang's growth was rushed. And really the last episode felt out of nowhere. He'd barely learned firebending nor had time to use it like his other elements. It was great overall, I just wanted more.
I will say another thing I really admired about the show is how much it challenged stereotypes, not just in strong female leads, but also character tropes and what's typical of those types as well the nature of duality.

Now I will discuss by certain characters...
Aang –
long paragraph here lmao
Katara –
Toph –
Sokka –
Zuko –

HELP I HAD SO MUCH TO SAY HSHSH
Azula –
Suki –
Iroh –
I'm just covering the main things in this thread so I'm not really going to get into other characters. I think the only character in the show I didn't like is Jet. Mei, TyLee, June are baes. Def ppl I cld talk abt but its not necessary. oh and Roku, Hakoda, Ozai? choo choo🤤
The changes I mentioned in the character stuff and above are the only minor adjustments really that I'd make. it was great though. all the props all the the love. im excited to kind of rewatch it later to find what i might have missed and i get to join the ATLA memes n convos now
