be good to each other

please
this isn't some funny haha joke for you to say "no" to or make a smash reference

i've seen tons of friends who are content creators be completely dehumanized by "the people" treating them like a cartoon character in your television
i am a person
you are a person
everybody is a person
please be good to each other

people in general (especially content creators, celebrities, or even your local mechanic) should never be idolized.

a role model? sure, why not...
but don't deify them.
nobody deserves that.
above all else, realize that you do not know content creators

every content creator shows you the side of themselves that they WANT you to see
including me!! im not immune!!

that alone is the #1 reason why you shouldn't idolize someone who you only know through social media
let it be known that this thread wasn't due to anything that happened to me today!! i'm doing fine!!

i've just seen a lot of friends suffering lately and it leaves me with a huge pit in my stomach

so please, please be good to each other

please
content creators should not use this thread as an excuse to simply remind fans – this should be an excuse for content creators to grow as well

there is a power imbalance with every fan interaction. this is honestly something that has taken me years to fully figure out
no matter how big or small the interaction may be, people who look up to you hold you in a holy light... don't abuse this.

it can be a hard thing to recognize (speaking from personal experience) but to summarize it lightly:
the verified, 400k follower account fighting in the replies with "Timothy Sonic Main" sporting a whopping 12 followers is an inherent imbalance in power

Whether you want to or not, you WILL send your followers after them despite that not being your intention.
Trust me, as a creator, this is has been the HARDEST thing to wrap my mind around since it's so easy to ignore as a creator. To everyone in the past who I've beefed with over pointless shit: I'm sorry.

To other creators:
please hold yourself accountable. <3
It's very difficult to comprehend your reach as a creator. I have two million subscribers on youtube, but do you think I can conceptualize what two million people looks like in my head? Absolutely not!
As a creator, it's healthy to acknowledge that people do look up to you, but you haaaaaaave to recognize that your actions become a precedent.

It sucks to be idolized, but it happens. It would be nice if it didn't, but it does. So please use your power properly. Don't abuse it.
final message in this tread:

be good to each other
thanks for listening
