sometimes I think it'd be amusing to make an aesthetic tumblr or twitter bot that's just sequels-to-nostalgic things, with the goal of provoking a negative response.
You know, like that classic Muzzy in Gondoland cartoon for learning languages??
what was that weird anime about christianity, with the kids who went back to Jesus Times with their pet robot?
No, not Flying House, the other one... Superbook!
to be honest it could just be random screenshots from The Land Before Time 2-14 and the TV series.
like this one from Invasion of the Tinysauruses
or An American Tail: The Mystery of the Night Monster (what)
there's actually a very simple formula to find Terrible Cartoons like this.
Step 1: Pick any Don Bluth film
Step 2: Look at the sequels, which he had nothing to do with
Like The Secret of NIMH 2: Timmy to the Rescue
or An All Dogs Christmas Carol
or The Fox and the Hound 2
That wasn't "A Don Bluth Movie" in the sense of being Director/Producer like he was on Secret of NIMH/An American Tail/Land Before Tile/All Dogs Go to Heaven/Anatasia/Titan AE, but he was an animator on it.

Still counts. Actually most Disney direct-to-video sequels do
Except Cinderella III: A Twist In Time.
That one is reportedly really good, because it actually has a story that's not just "the story of the original movie but worse" or "some stuff that wasn't in the original movie for pacing reasons"
And a special mention has to go to Kis Vuk.
It's reportedly the "most hated film in Hungary".
It's a sequel to a kinda obscure cartoon called Vuk/The Little Fox which is based on a book of the same name, both of which are loved in Hungary.
it was a classic 1981 cartoon, the sequel is a 2008 computer animated version.
You don't even have to see either film to guess what went wrong here
Vuk got released in the US under the Feature Films for Families label as "The Little Fox" It wasn't really "Christian" in any way, but they wanted to provide an alternative to the godless heathenery that was Disney, I guess.
They renamed him "Vic" because having a bunch of little English-speaking kids try to say "Vuk" was just a disaster waiting to happen
anyway the point I want to go for isn't actually "LOOK AT THIS BAD SEQUEL", but the shock of "LOOK AT THIS THING YOU VAGUELY REMEMBER FROM THE 80S or 90S AND SURPRISE IT'D BEEN SEQUELED OR REMADE AND YOU DIDN'T KNOW"
after all, we live in a world where Highlander, the ultimate Movie That Couldn't Have A Sequel, still got one 29 years ago and then 4 more and three serieses.
so feel free to provide your "YOU DIDN'T KNOW THIS HAPPENED" sequels/remakes for this thread.
Like Inspector Gadget. No, not the 1999 Matthew Broderick movie, or the 2003 sequel where they recast Gadget with French Stewart... The 2015 computer animated TV series.
it might be interesting to go through a list of 1980s cartoons and figure out which ones haven't been remade yet.
after a quick check of wikipedia, it turns out they've all been remade, except one. We still are missing a modern remake of Foofur.
