Currently watching my county meeting on whether masks will be required. A woman is currently equating wearing a mask with a "FORCED MEDICAL PROCEDURE." I hope you never are able to find a manager again you insufferable twit.
Now a person is at the mic weeping openly because asking her kids to wear a mask is going to cause them anxiety. I wonder if they think losing a parent will make the kids anxious.
The guy at the mic right now is straight up mad that shutting down the country flattened the curve and he didn't die like he had been led to believe (I am not exaggerating).
Currently, a 79 year-old, with breathing issues, arguing that she is in "her twilight years" and should not have to be imprisoned in a mask and should be able to leave her home freely. I wonder how she will feel about a ventilator.
Next speaker, I am pretty sure, was drunk (not trying to be funny here, at all). She screamed "YOU WORK FOR US MY BODY MY RIGHTS" and then wandered away from the mic mid-sentence.
Lest you think I am cherry-picking, I PROMISE I am waiting for someone to show up and not say something wackadoo.
Aha, a well-spoken young-ish man just said, "This is a matter of trust" and says we should TRUST that the public will volunteer in droves to sanitize public spaces. (I have watched people in my town wipe snot onto the grocery store shelves, so... I am not trusting.)
Finally, a pro-mask speaker. She had lots of good data. No applause. She is followed by an RN, also masked. She brings up the seatbelt analogy. Clearly emotional and worried about what numbers it will take before people agree to act.
More masked medical personnel speaking now. Still no applause for them (Unlike the guy who showed up and said, "This isn't a PANDEMIC, its a PLANdemic to overthrow Donald Trump!")
Finally someone at the mic (masked) who says she has HAD Covid19. Eagerly waiting to see how close the next unmasked person get.
