Everyone protesting wearing masks should go to an ER to see how very real & absolutely horrific this virus is. What privilege to be in good health & not worried about your life or your loved ones lives being threatened. To put others at risk for your own ego is disgusting.
Very accurate thread of what’s its like to have COVID-19. The symptoms seem like nothing at first, then suddenly you’re fighting for your life. It is absolutely real and any exposure can be a threat. It is of utmost importance to take every precaution possible. https://twitter.com/kaydeegrace132/status/1277756961455366144">https://twitter.com/kaydeegra...
This girl is also very lucky that she had someone with her. ER’s & hospitals are at capacity and then some with patients who are: not allowed visitors, often too sick to call family, alone with no one to advocate for their well being, dying without their family even knowing.
And that’s those who are fortunate enough to even get a room inside of the hospital. Never mind the groups of people OUTSIDE of the ER being seen in tents not allowed to step foot in the hospital unless their symptoms become critical.
I saw a nurse spend 40 minutes talking to supervisors to get permission to give a man a breathing treatment he desperately needed in a wheelchair in! the! parking! lot! at 11pm at night in the cold because they’re not allowed to do treatments in the tent and there were no rooms.
This kind of out of the box, quick thinking saved that man’s life. Resources are depleted & nurses are doing all they can with what they have available but it’s not enough. This virus is serious. At this point, if you get it, there’s no guarantee you’ll get the help you need.
And even if you’re lucky enough to get into the hospital, there’s only so much they can do.

Maybe no one will read this thread & maybe no one will care, but that doesn’t change that it’s happening and it’s real. Please take precautions for your health & for those around you.
