Yes our TTPS is made up of mostly black men and women who many of which also come from poor communities.

However, the systems that were implemented and created for police are largely influenced by what white planters wanted to create post-slavery.

Similar to post colonial America, these communities were meant to remain poor and heavily policed.
Our crime is largely a symptom of chaotic and extreme measures to prohibit the social advancement of people within these communities.
