As I say, I disagree with the cop shit. But the idea that Danny and I "tweet cryptically about it [...] to drum up patreon subscribers" is a cruel characterization, that could only be made from a place of stupefied entitlement. https://twitter.com/batmans_robyn/status/1277731310371508225
1. Neither Danny nor I use Patreon. We publish on Substack; I have stopped doing so almost entirely; we have only published free stuff since lockdown started; we have both (understandably! rightly!) lost a lot of followers.

2. Danny and I are *writers*. We write about feelings.
3. Our ability to disclose the exact origin of the feelings was limited by our responsibilities to the investigation, and then a long period of reflection as we decided how to proceed.

4. *You were not entitled to any more information about us, friend.*
I get annoyed about this, because it simmers just under the surface of a lot of my online life, and it always presents vaguely as a misogynist portrait of me as Lady Macbeth and Danny as a trusting stooge. It's also straight up this: https://twitter.com/graceelavery/status/1276661430889123840?s=20
ho ho ho
I’m probably overreacting to this, to be honest - this is just some asshole being an idiot, and nobody is obliged to like me or Danny, and disagreement about these questions is good. Whatever.
What many ppl reading this prob. don’t know, however, is that when Danny made the break with his family, an ENORMOUS gossip thread opened up on Reddit, full of hundreds of people calling me a cunt, bitch, etc. Some people retracted their attacks in January. None apologized to me.
